A frizurák chignonokkal és póthajakkal megtömve készültek, magasan feltornyozva fonatokkal, tekercsekkel a fejtetőre ahonnan hullámok vagy fonatok omlottak alá a tarkóra és a hátra. A frufru mind divatosabb lett. A kalapok, hogy elférjenek a hatalmas hajtömegen egész kicsik voltak és belecsúsztak a homlokba az évtized elején, divatosak voltak a főkötő formájú, ún. "fanchon" kalapok férjezett asszonyoknak. 1875-re azonban a szép szalmakalap kiszorította, amit dúsan teliraktak mindenféle virágokkal, szalagokkal, csipkével, kelme fodrokkal, tollakkal, stb.-vel. Már nemcsak a széles karima külszélét, hanem belsejét is díszítették ezekkel. Hátul libbenő fátyollal, hosszú, vastag szalaggal vagy nyáron a kedvelt virág füzérekkel.
The hair-dos were stuffed with wigs and chignons, high mounted with plaits, curls on the top of the head where curls and plaits hanged down to the scruff and shoulders. The frou-frou was becoming more and more fashionable. The hats, to fit on these enormous coiffure were rather small and slipped off to the forehead at the beginning of the century, the cap-like so called "fanchon" bonnets were also fashionable for married women. But by 1875 the nice straw hat passed this over, opulently decorated with flowers, ribbons, lace, fabric flounces, feathers, etc. Not only around the wide rim but the inner side too decorated with these. At the back a flirty veil, long, wide ribbon or during summer the prefered flower garlands.

A cipők sarka megnőtt, egészen magas sarkúak lettek. Továbbra is divatosak voltak a csizmaszerűen hosszúszárú sétacipők, nyáron félcipőket viseltek. A napernyők szára meghosszabodott és szintúgy az ernyőrészük is kissé megnőtt, mely igen sok helyet adott a sok fodor, csipke, hímzés és szalag dísznek. Kesztyűk, legyezők mind megnyúltak és már nem is fértek el oly kényelmesen a finom kis női kacsókban. Hosszú bársony szalagra fűzött nagy medálok, kihímezve gyöngyökkel melynek végei eltűntek hátul a szoknya fodrozatai között, díszes teknőc páncél, nemesfém vagy elefántcsont hajfésűk és hajtűk emelték a hölgyek szépségét.
The heels of the shoes talled, becoming really high-heels. Also the boots wih long legs as walking shoes were fashionable, during summer oxford shoes were worn. The shaft of the parasols extended and the umbrella-frame slightly grew too, giving lots of place for the opulnt flounces, lace, embroidery and ribbon trimmings. Gloves, fans all elongated and didn't fit well in the charming little ladies' hands. Big brooches on long velvet ribbons, embroidered with beads and the endings disappearing at the back within the flounces of the dress, decorative tortoise-shell, precious metals or ebony combs and hair-pins raised the beauty of the ladies'.
